We received notice this morning that Google have finally released their 4th Penguin update.
- Penguin 1 on April 24, 2012 (impacting ~3.1% of queries)
- Penguin 2 on May 26, 2012 (impacting less than 0.1%)
- Penguin 3 on October 5, 2012 (impacting ~0.3% of queries)
- Penguin 4 on May 22, 2013 (impacting 2.3% of queries)
What do this mean for you?
Historically every time Google release a new update the ranking of nearly every website goes into a state of flux for a couple of weeks, and then settle back down. Some of you will have been through this before. This affects not just your website, but all websites worldwide.
We expect that some of you will notice large fluctuations in your rankings over the coming weeks. We are keeping a very close eye on how things play out and will be implementing changes as and when we need to.
Nu Studio always plays within Google’s guidelines so we do not expect the affect of this latest Google update to affect you too much – especially if the only SEO you have ever done has been with us. But we will have to wait and see. In reality, no one outside Google knows what this update will bring us and how it will affect individual websites.
